Boo! Did I scare you? ; )

The time has come to pull out a costume and my plan is really simple. I've been a "Jack O'Lantern" for Halloween every year for the past few years.

I like to consider myself a pretty creative person but usually I devote all my "Halloween preparation" time to decorating (#typical) and wait till the last minute to put together any sort of costume. I admire people who whip out super creative costumes every year! Like seriously you rock because Pinterest makes me feel like a failure with all of those handmade "Starbucks Cup" ensembles that I see on my feed.

Two years ago I was in Target and spotted this children's t-shirt for five dollars. I snagged it, paired it with a green bow headband and it has been my go-to Halloween costume ever since. Easy, simple, I can throw on a sweater and not feel like a 5 year old in public. Works for me!

Ok so I fibbed a little bit..My boyfriend and I broke the norm a few years ago and went to a party as Nemo and a scuba diver. Maybe it's like lightning striking and next year I will be ready to whip out an awesome handmade costume. Heres to hoping!

What are you dressing up as this year? Happy Halloween!

Todays post in a nutshell: "I tried"

Some days are outfit taking days and other days I get the camera "wiggle-jiggles" and end up with a whole lot of blurry photos that I cant use. Im not the greatest photo subject, and I feel seriously sorry for any photographer who works with me.

My modeling skills aside, it was also the weekend. And when I'm off the clock it's hard to pull me away from my apartment for just about anything, including capturing an outfit. I snagged this sweater from Anthropologie last year and its the definition of weekend appropriate. It feels like a sweatshirt but looks a little bit more polished for when I need to run errands.

Totally crazy about this druzy bracelet from The Yimi! Doesn't it just scream autumn? I've been loving it layered over thin sweater sleeves.

The owner of The Yimi, Adrianne who is so sweet (and a Delta Gamma!) is offering a 25% off discount on any purchase to PDX Prepster readers! Just enter code: pdxprepster at checkout : )

Outfit Details: Sweater (sold out, similar here)/ Denim/ Shoes/ Druzy Bracelet (c/o)(25% off with code: pdxprepster)/ Gucci Traveler Crossbody (similar style)/ Bee Ring/ Nail Color (c/o)

Blogger Friends! Do you ever struggle with taking outfit photos? Or am I the only un-supermodel out there? ; )

So excited to share todays post with you guys! I'm a sucker for good fit and standing at 5'1" alterations are my friend.

A few weeks ago a company called Eshakti sent me an email about their fall product line. And while scrolling through the site (thinking it was just another clothing company) I realized that the clothes were customizable to your measurements! That feature alone with the reasonable price tag (The trench I'm wearing is just under a hundred dollars) leads me to believe I have found the holy grail of well fitting clothing.

I so struggle with finding well fitting basics. Denim always needs to be shortened, skirts need to be hemmed, every single prom dress I wore needed to be taken, up, out and in because sizes 2, 4, and 6 all came with individual problems.

This trench fits like a glove. For once I received something in the mail without the worry of fit. And the color? Well navy goes with just about everything, am I right?

Outfit Details: Eshakti Navy Trench (c/o)/ Leggings/ Armed and Readi Ring (c/o)/ Boots/ GiGi New York Crossbody Bag (c/o)/ Earrings (sold out, similar here)/ Tie-Front Blouse (vintage Pendelton, similar here and here)/ Nail Color/ Lip Color.

**Side Note** In absolutely crazy about this cross body bag from GiGi New York. In this post I'm wearing mine as a clutch (versatility, check!) but I'm also loving this one and this one in the same emerald color.

Where do you shop to find great fitting basics?

Happy Saturday everyone! Personally, I'm so glad the weekend has arrived!

I have to say this outfit has been on repeat ever since this monogrammed pullover arrived at my doorstep. Because the pullover is a little more "bulky" than most sweaters, its way easier to later with button up shirts! It is struggle city in the morning when putting on a crew neck sweater over a button up shirt. Seriously, getting the sleeves and collar to look just right is a pain. (PS. be on the lookout for a great giveaway with Charles River Apparel later this month!)

Another new favorite is this Hayden Reis monogrammed tote bag. It's made from sailcloth so its rain resistant, I repeat rain resistant which is perfect for the weather here in Oregon. I just hang it up in my coat closet when I get home from class and the water wicks right off. Talk about perfect for Portland.

Outfit Details: Charles River Monogrammed Pullover (c/o)/ Tartan Shirt (sold out, but identical here)/ Denim/ Rain Boots/ Tote Bag (c/o)/ Pearl Bracelet/ Anchor Cuff (c/o)/ Earrings/ Lip Color (c/o Glossybox).

What are you up to this weekend?

Ah, this jacket. I call it the "pumpkin coat"

Why? Two reasons. One, because of the fact that due to the short sleeves I can only wear it in the beginning of fall when I'm at the peak of pumpkin obsession and its warm enough. And two, because of its "pumkin-esque" color.

Even though its seasonal "shelf life" is short, Its the first jacket I grab every year when the first fall chill arrives.

Outfit Details: Orange Coat (long gone, similar style here and color here)/ White Top/ Lisi Lerch Earrings (c/o)/ Denim (cheaper here)/ Marley Lilly "Nameplate" Necklace (c/o)/ Tory Burch Crossbody (also loving this one and this one from the same collection!)/ Black Riding Boots.

Do you have an item that you love that can only be worn for a short period of time? I would love some advice on styling this for the colder months!
