Good Morning and Happy Monday!!

After a long long long weekend of house hunting in Portland, I am so glad to be back to writing about fun Disney things instead of looking at listings. This was probably the first Monday in a long time that I was actually looking forward to catching up on work and packing upon returning home. If you aren't aware of what I'm talking about or referencing, the Portland housing market is totally insane right now.  Anyway, on to happier things!

It's no secret that I am a huge Orange Bird fan, and I love anything that I can wear into the parks or showcase in my home to show off my favorite citrus bird. Last September, Jennifer (The Brave Little Tailor) sent me a dress that knocked my socks off! It has the cutest citrus pattern and feels like wearing one big legging in the best way! The fabric slips right on and flares and the bottom, perfect for Florida humidity. 

And now you are thinking, "Natalie, if she sent this dress to you last summer why are we just now hearing about it." Well it was perfect in Florida, but the one day I wore it I forgot our camera equipment in the room (magic bands make it so easy to forget everything) and then I flew home....and it got way too cold way too fast. All of this makes me the worst at keeping you in the loop, I know. I am still trying to find a cute way to style it for winter, so if anyone finds a fabulous chunky emerald sweater please let me know. Last week grabbed my camera and I wore it with some of my favorite rain gear and braved the unpredictable spring weather so that you guys could order one just in time for your summer adventures. She has every character ever included in her shop, so you most definitely don't need to be an Orange Bird fan to enjoy one. Like I said the fit is pretty incredible and the dress is super lightweight.

TGIF people! 

I am so excited that the weekend is here, my house isn't a total wreck, and the weather has been bearable enough to take Baloo out on the weekends! Looking forward to a morning at the park with her tomorrow. 

As a few of you know, we are moving back to Portland in a few months and some of you have been asking about our experience with apartment hunting. I will make sure to answer those questions and talk about it in a post soon but for now we have to keep it somewhat private until we have our plans set in stone. Just know that I am holding onto them to answer at a later date, now on to todays news!

One of my favorite small shops Happily Ever Tees has a Beauty And The Beast collection coming out on Tuesday February 28th and Nicole was nice enough to let me share my favorite tee from the collection a little early in celebration of the launch. The BATB hype is so real right now! Belle was obviously a childhood favorite and brunette princess icon. There was a solid month of my childhood where all I would wear was off the shoulder gowns that were way too big for me. I know I will be wearing this tee at the theater come March 17th ;)

I chose the "If it's not baroque dont fix it" v-neck in yellow (duh!) and ordered a size up so that it would be extra comfy for park visits in the summer heat. Seriously nothing worse than clothes that are to tight in the California sunshine or Florida humidity.

Part of what I loved about this tee was how subtle the reference was! Cogsworth and Lumiere are some of the best characters and their witty quotes from the original film don't get nearly enough credit. I also loved the font and the little clock face reference within the "O" of the word don't.

I have seen so many cute ways to wear a bandana lately on Pinterest and wanted to give the trend a try so I paired this red one (they are so cheap!) with the tee and added my favorite Belle pin to finish it off. I have SO many disney pins and this was such an easy way to wear one, I think I will be trying it out in the parks for sure! My favorite method to showcase pins it still on overalls, but this way is definitely a little less heavy.

Every morning I look out of my window to see the tree in front of our apartment showing off its neon red leaves against the fog and I say "can we keep the leaves?!" as I make my coffee. 

The beginning of autumn is this beautiful thing. You have the upcoming holidays to look forward to, pumpkin spice makes its grand return to stores, and the leaves have changed but are still attached to the tree. 

After this magic wears off, you get goopy black leaf mush all over the road in Oregon. Not so magical.

Dear mother nature....can we keep the leaves?

Taking a slight break from Disney related things for a quick minute to talk about my second favorite thing, Fall! I am a fall-o-holic which is why I get jazzed about The Nordstroms Half Yearly Sale that pops up this time of year. Boots, sweaters, and other fall basics are on temporary sale before the season starts which gives you a chance to splurge on some basic things you might want for colder days ahead. 

Things like these hunter boots (worn here) are normally almost 200$ but with the sale price and some Nordstrom notes, you can shave the price down to almost half that! I love my hunters, but I would love them just a little bit more if I saved one hundred dollars buying them.

Soft Tee + Jean Shorts + Birkenstocks. One and done, that is what you will find me in all summer long. When it starts to get warm here in Oregon, I yank the few sundresses I own out of my closet and take them for a spin. I pair them with cute cardigans, fun necklaces, delicate sandals....until about 10 days in when I cut the BS and go back to the basics. Vacation is slightly different, but when its hot I want a great t-shirt/cutoffs combo. 

The shirt that I am wearing in this post, was in this months Smugglers Bounty. I love receiving a box filled with Star Wars goodies every few months and was delighted to see this shirt when I opened the box this time around (I talked about this on Snapchat). Usually the shirts are a little busy and often too masculine for my taste, so I appreciated the simple coloring and theme on this one. Definitely cute enough to wear with cutoffs and a simple watch!

So long beautiful Portland weather. 

I say that while sitting here editing this post while it pours buckets outside, these photos were snapped a few days prior when the sunshine was out for a rare moment. This is the first year I am actually loving (or even remotely tolerating) the sunshine so I am a little bummed that it was only temporary. My favorite place to be while the sun is out in PDX is the Pearl District, since there are so many restaurants, boutiques, and urban parks to enjoy outdoors.

For spring break this year my friends and I jammed ourselves into a rental car for 30 hours and drove down to Disneyland and back! It was so much fun, but also so much sitting and so many stretches were needed to keep from turning into stone. 

Comfort wear was very (very) necessary and I learned a few things about outfits for long travel days. Here is a little bit about what I wore and what I learned.

1. Grab a sweater or shawl that can be converted into a last minute blanket or pillow/ This is super helpful when you need it and the key is to wear a sweater light enough to be peeled off when it gets too hot but is easy to throw back on when it gets cold. This one from Crane and Lion that I am wearing is super thin but bulks up pretty well into a last minute sleep aid. I also loved that it was long in the front and short in the back (wrap style) so that there wasn't the risk of sitting on it while I was in the car.

2. Keep jewelry and accessories simple/ More things worn equals more things that you can loose within the cracks and crevices of the car. I kept it pretty simple with a small necklace and my favorite watch.

3. Bring sunglasses/ Or you risk getting blinded, sunglasses were a must have!

4. If changing climates bring layers or a convertible outfit/ We passed all the way through Southern Oregon, into Northern California, down to Southern California and back so its safe to say the climate was different each time we got out of the car. I tried to dress accordingly and brought a pair of backup shorts so that if it really was too warm I could strip down to a tee and shorts.

5. Keep your makeup and haircare super light/ I learned this one the hard way and put a usual amount of Moroccan oil in my hair before we left. My hair felt greasy by noon and I was done. Same goes with makeup. The lighter it is, the better you will feel at the end of the day.
